When I talk about the purpose of the practicum in this program, I got so many goals and this is very make me to being confident. But for me there are indeed goals is very important for me which are:
First, because my study is English Language Education, so this program really improve my English skills. Especially in speaking, listening and writing too. When I am in Thailand I only use English to communicate with the people.
Second one is about I can improve my teaching skills that I got from my campus, I met the rreal students and then I teach them with my knowledge and ability.
Third one is about, I can stand alone, it means I can take care my self at another country without my parents and then I can know that I can did that, I can survive in another country.
Next is about, I can know about new culture, I really love learn new culture and the Thailand are have so many culture, I really happy to know and learn about that.
And the last one is about I can learn new system education that use in this country and then I have so many friends too.
Procedures of Practicum
My practicum procedure follows the terms and conditions that have been announced by the SEATEACHER program to me. There are 4 stages that must be followed, namely:
I have at least 22 hours to teach my students at that school. My first step is I am improve myself every week is to continue to discuss with my mentor, he already know and are accustomed to dealing with students with many conditions
From all stages, I have done all the stages. I already learn about students behavior, I learn it from my mentor. The teacher at that school teach me about so many things, as well as how to be good teacher, ho to make the students not got bored and then how to relax to teach them. Actually for the first time I am so nervous and I think I can not to handle it, but day to day I can did it. I can to being my self to teach them and I am so enjoy my work.
Outcomes of Practicum
Finally I can finish my practicum and the I got outcomes from my practicum, which are:
The Challenge of Practicum
When I am teach at Anuban Lampang School, actually the big Challenge for me aare can I follow the rule from that school as well as how to make the lesson plan and can I handle that students, because actually the system education Thailand and Indonesia is so different, so that I really worry about how the lesson plan of that school, I am afraid I can not to follow it. The second one is about how to handle the students, because the students from Indonesia will different with students from Thailand. They will have different habbiet, knowledge about English, and personality, well is should know it and understand to make I can handle them when I teach them.
Overall Impression
From my impression, I want to said thank you so much for this program. To be a part of this program is like dream from me, I can not believe when I to being the one in my class went to Thailand. This program excellent because to join in this program the students who want to improve their knowledge and ability will get it from this program. They will get so many experience and then get new life. They will know is they good or not.
Suggestion for Future Improvement
Actually I don’t know what suggestion that is should give to this program, because this program is really good and excellent. But I think my suggestion is about can this program make the time more long when the students did practicum in school, because if only less then one month, it not will enough to get more experience. And I think SEAMEO needs to more talk or do discussion with the lecture or the teacher from each university about what will the students do when they learn practicum at another country.
Teaching Methods
Anuban Lampang School is one of famous school in Lampang province. In this school used strategy approach education is STEM or Science Technology Engineering Mathematics so that in that school the teacher teach the students with way give the some problem to the students or another word it can call Problem Based Learning. In this method the teacher will ask the students to have critical thinking and then to improve their thinking with way give some problem and the students must give the solution or the answer of that problem. Besides that the teacher also used method Project Based Learning in this method the teacher more emphasize learning more complex and then based on learning activities, the teacher will give one project or more and then the students should complete that project and submit that project.
Learning Material and Innovation
The material that used of this school to teach the students is textbooks and supported with workbook too. Books is to being material that the teacher used to teach their students is adapted to STEM education. The teacher at Anuban Lampang School always bring the students media as well as flashcard, news, magazine, films, video and then story books the make the students more active and interesting. This is the importance from STEM education for me because with that education can make the students more excited, creative, and innovative. So many benefits that can get from STEM to students and this is suitable to apply in every school and this education should developed.
Source of Learning and Technology
The source of this learning is from textbook and them workbooks too. Some teacher use textbook and workbooks to foundation to teach the students. They made the worksheet and then additional sheet by themselves based on the topic that they will learn to students, they usually make it with power point, videos, and some picture, flashcard, and the others. But only for science in some learning materials students will use a simple way to make the students more understand.
Authentic Assessment
Anuban Lampang school use skillss assessment and then chapter assessment to being authentic assessment. For skillss assessment based on the activity from the students in the class, the understanding , the evaluation and the application. Another word for chapter assessment it same like students ability to answer the quiz, middle test and the final exam or final test.

See You Next Time, Thailand….

Today, on September 14, my friend Taya and I left at 8:30 am to drive to Don Mueang in Bangkok. It took 9 hours to get to Bangkok from Lampang city. Before we left, we did not forget to say goodbye to the mother of the dormitory owner and also Miss Ying, because Miss Ying could not take us to Bangkok.

During the parting words, unknowingly these tears fell, I felt very sad but I tried to accept. After that we got into the car and went to Bangkok. On the trip, there were so many incidents that made it very difficult for us to sleep. First, we stopped at every Seven Eleven market to buy some foods, after that we got stuck in traffic, then at 12.00 pm our car stopped, our car’s fuel ran out of gasoline and we all had to go down and pushed the car, in the midday. When we pushed the car we all looked at each other and I said “this is the first time I push the car, and I just do it at Thailand, only in Thailand” and all my friends was laughing. Finally we found the gas station and we paused to drink water to quench our thirst after pushing a very large car.

At 3.45 pm, I arrived at the airport; Taya and I were the second people to get out of the car because my two friends who were from Vietnam had preceded me getting off. They got off in Downtown Bangkok to meet their friends. When I arrived at the airport, I was very sad because this was my time to part with my friend. I looked at my friend who came from Philippines and said “Don’t cry baby, it’s not good bye, we will meet next time, I promise”. We then hugged each other and took pictures together before me and my friend checked in.

Our flight was at night. So, I just decided to just sleep on the plane, because the trip from Bangkok to Jakarta took 3 hours. I left at 7.30 pm and arrived in Jakarta at 10.30 pm. That day was very late, and we decided to take a break at a restaurant that was still inside the airport, because we were only able to check in at 3:00 am so we waited for 4 hours. After the time showed 2.30 am we got ready to go to the place we checked in. Finally, we finished checking in and went to the waiting door, at 4.30 am we got into the plane and got ready to fly to Bali. The plane was very quiet, there were not many passengers, and there were only about 25 passengers. Luckily, I got a seat near the window so I could see the sunrise.

At 6.00 am I woke up from my sleep and when I looked outside the window, the sun had started to rise and I was very happy, I took some pictures and videos. After a while, the flight attendant told us that in 20 minutes we would make a landing at Ngurah Rai Airport. I was very happy and also could not wait to meet my family at home. Because the only one who picked me up at the airport was my boyfriend, so I went home alone. I arrived in Bali at 6.30 am and when I exited the airport’s door I saw my boyfriend carrying Flower and also a very large doll, I was very happy because I arrived in Bali safely and was able to gather with my family again.

On September 14, 2019 at 7.30, I was ready with everything. I was ready with a breakup, I was ready to cry. Returning briefly to the first week in this city, I wanted to briefly tell about a meeting and farewell. I started with a meeting, a meeting between me and my roommate, a meeting between me and my SEA Techer friends and a meeting between me and my mentor, I never planned it, we just met according to the path, met my friends from Thailand, until we cooked together to prepare dinner.

Meeting them all, I felt meeting a new family, a family that made my days happy, meeting them all gave many new stories in my life. Meeting friends from Vietnam I came to understand that Vietnamese people are very gentle and their smiles are so warm. Meeting a friend of Philippines made me know that they have a lot of dialects and they also are so caring.

I love you all, only a bunch of thanks that I can say for all of you. Thank you for wanting to be my friend in arms for one month. A lot of time we spent together while running this program, we spent sad and happy together, the nights changed into the mornings and met the night we spent together again. Walking at night through the city of Lampang to get dinner, how exciting and tired was not it? But I really enjoyed every moment we created together. Passing through the horror of our dormitory at night, wasn’t it exciting? I really remembered what happened that night. Playing Truth or Dead and Call the Country together, I would miss that moment, when we were so scared together and laughed together, sharing complaints about school and also gave each other solutions to a problem.

There’s only one question I ask, can we repeat that moment again? When we laughed together and also walked together….

We already promised each other, in the future, we will meet again, either I will be the one who visit your country and come knocking your door or you are the one who will travel to my country and ask me to pick you up at the airport, who knows?
But I’m sure someday we will meet again, at different times and also in different places. I always pray that we are destined to meet again. Thank you for giving me very beautiful memories and treat me like your family. I got you all as my new family here, and I love you so much.
Don’t Say Good Bye, We Will Meet Again The Next Time…
September 13 2019 was the day I had to be parted with my students and also the teacher at Anuban Lampang School, because on the 14th I had to leave the city of Lampang and went to Bangkok to the airport.

In the morning of Friday the 13th September at 8.30 am, my two friends and I went to school together and arrived at the school and we were welcomed with students and teachers. Then the Director of this school called me and my two friends to go onstage and said our messages and impressions while we were teaching in this school. I could not hold my tears because I loved my students and teachers here. They took care of me very well while I was here. I said many thanks to them, and also had guided me very well, showing how to teach the right way and also giving me some comments when I made mistakes so that I didn’t repeat the same mistakes.
After my two friends and I finished saying goodbye, we were given a souvenir bag by my teacher and then I gave them a Ganesha stone from my university. The bag was so cute and I loved it, after that we took pictures together with the directors and teachers in this school. Actually I wanted to stay longer with them, but time did not give me a chance because I had to go to Lampang Rajabath University. Today, we would attend a final presentation too at that campus to present our experience and then in exchange culture. Well we did not have time, I should go, at 9.00 am I went with my teacher from Anuban Lampang School to the University.

At 9.15 am we arrived at Lampang Rajabath University. Up there we had to prepare my presentation. The activity we did there was to present what I got while participating in the SEA Teacher program, then to introduce my country, my city and also my University. After that, to introduce culture. When introducing my culture and my friend chose to dance. I chose Puspanjali dance for me to present to the invitees.
Puspanjali dance is about dancing with friends. That dance tells how beautiful when we play with friends. To be honest, I had never danced in my country and also I did not really know about the dance moves, but I had to show my best. Before today arrived, my friend and I had been doing exercises for 4 days so I was sure I could do it. This was the first time I did dancing and then I did at Thailand not at my country. I was so nervous but I should make my mind and body to be relaxed.

At 1.30pm we were invited to lunch together with Miss Ying at a restaurant near campus, we ate together and also shared stories about how we felt when doing exchange culture, we had so many stories and we enjoyed every story.
It did not feel like I had been teaching in this school for 3 weeks, at Anuban Lampang School.
This week, we could carry out the final exam or final demo and my supervisor chose Thursday to be the day for me to carry out the final exam for this program. In the afternoon at 1.30 pm after lunch, my supervisor came and asked me to prepare everything I would need to carry out the final demo, from the lesson plan and also the media that I would use to teach my students today. Then I asked my friend from Vietnam to help me to take some pictures and also helped me to arrange the seating for my mentor and my supervisor in the classroom. But my mentor teacher, Marco, could not attend due to his sudden illness, and then my mentor was replaced by my Thai teacher.
When the final exam was about to begin, I prepared myself and did not forget to pray that everything would be carried out well. Then I entered the class to teach my students. In class, I felt very nervous but my supervisor told me to be calm and don’t think too much, do what you should do because everything will be missed. In class, all of my students really understand my situation; they became very good students and also orderly organizing themselves. They listened to my instructions well and also did not make a problem. I invited my students to dance and sing together. At this point, I thought they would enjoy it more and also would be very happy while studying. The material I gave them was about how to make a tornado in the bottle. I asked them to come forward and made their own tornado in the bottle. The materials were from bottle and water and they tested their experiments themselves.
It was clear on their faces, my students were very curious about the results of their experiments, they went to the front of the class to make their own tornadoes, and as a result they all managed to create their own tornadoes. Many students felt very excited and also they gave me a lot of questions, and I had to answer one of their questions correctly so that they understood. After all the students successfully tried to make their own tornadoes, I asked them to sit back in an orderly manner and asked them to express their opinions about the material I gave and one of my students answered that he was very excited because he could create their own tornadoes and this is the first time for her to see the tornado in the bottle. Me, as a teacher, felt very happy and proud because my students were so interested in the material that I provided.

Finally, At 2.30 pm I ended the lesson by saying “Thank you for your attention, see you next week my students” and then I ended today’s final exam with great satisfaction and happiness. After that, my supervisor said to me that I was suitable to be a teacher because I could handle classes very well, but the way I taught was like teaching at senior high school, so seriously that my students to be serious too. My supervisor said I was excellent and then I was so happy. For the first time, I thought that this was going to be hard for me because before that my students were so active in the classroom, but today my students were so serious. I didn’t know why. But I loved it. After that, my supervisor and I took a picture together. Finally I could pass the final exam, I could breathe well.
Good morning Lampang. This is the last week we were together and you still looked beautiful.

This morning at 08.00 am, I was ready to go down a place that might make me unable to leave this city. This morning I did not go alone for an adventure, but I would go together with my friend from Lampang Rajabath University and also Miss Ying. We would go to a Buddhist temple in a village; some distance away at the end of the road, after that we would go to the Saturday Market and a coffee café.

We started our first trip by driving a unique Thai car which we name was Zelo. The Zelo driver who picked us up was very friendly and also has a very warm smile. When everyone was in Zelo already, it’s time for us to go to our first place; Temple in a Lian City named Phra Tad Doi Phra Chan Temple. The temple was very nice and beautiful with a combination of gold and red, standing on a green hill and also from the top of this hill we can see the vastness of the city of Lampang very clearly. In this temple we prayed together and enjoyed a very beautiful view, we also took pictures together and also walked around the temple yard, browsed through many stairs and also saw a pond that has a lot of fish.

After being quite satisfied and tired of walking down the stairs, we finally stopped at Thinthai Coffee Shop. Inside the café, we sat together and mingled with each other, got to know each other better and also shared stories with each other, share experiences and also laughed together. Inside the café, we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Without waiting too long, our order arrived, I ordered a coffee latte and also one vanilla cake, I really liked the vanilla cake at this café, and it tasted the same as Vaniila cake my mother made at home. I missed my mother. It was already 6:00 pm in the evening, so we hurried to continue our final journey to the Saturday market.

After almost 1 hour we were on our way to the Saturday market, at 07.45 pm we finally arrived at the Saturday market. Until there we were very excited, because there are so many places selling souvenirs and also some typical Thai food. Because I really like Thai food so the first place we visited was the food center and then we went to a place where we could buy souvenirs typical of the city of Lampang. Actually I was already tired but I really enjoyed this trip. After we were satisfied and also got all the things we needed, we returned to the place where we had gathered to get ready to go home because Miss Ying was waiting for us. At 10.00 pm we arrived at our dormitory. Today had been a very pleasant and tiring day. I found new friends and new experiences. So lucky I was becoming part of them.

This morning was very sunny. When I woke up, I remembered one thing; Anuban Lampang School invited me and Kim to the place of making ceramics in Lampang city. This would be our first trip with teachers and students in this school. I was very excited to take this trip. At 08.00 I arrived at school and rushed to the field to help my tutor arranging the students. After that, the students lined up neatly, Kim and I went to the car immediately to go to the place of making ceramics. It was a long trip; about one hour journey.

Finally, we arrived at that place, that place was very comfortable and there were so many ceramic arts and souvenirs. After that my students moved to the big yard and then they got information about how to make ceramics. There were guides who telling them about that. After the guide had already done instructed the students, then he asked the students to make their own art.

I also accompanied them to make their work and also I got a part to make my own. Many activities we had done in that place, such as making sculptures from clay, then drawing on the surface of ceramics, and also arranging a souvenir of shells and pearls.
At 01.00 we got to go back to school. We carried lots of souvenirs and also new experiences. My students were very happy and they really enjoyed all the activities there. And also the work they made were very good and beautiful. I really enjoyed the time given, chatting with the teachers and also playing with all of my students. I did not think I could repeat a moment like this; the teachers and students were so close each other. It felt very warm, like family. I would really miss this moment. Thank you for the new experience that was given to me.

The first time I came to this elementary school, I missed my childhood, I missed my friends and I missed my teacher too. I remember when I was 6 years old

This morning I was so excited because I must went to Anuban Lampang School to do the observation with my friends from Philippines and Vietnam. We woke up at 06.00 am and we finished preparing at 07.00. We needed a long time to prepare because we were girls.
After all things is ready, we went to school together. It was raining when I went to school and I should borrowed the umbrella from my owner of dormitory. It was the first time for me to hear the Thailand greeting sawadika and sawadikap. They were uttered by the students and teachers. We were so happy because all of them were very warm. The headmaster, Mrs. Bang On, introduced the school, the teachers and our supervisors. Well, I was very happy because I got a native speaker as my supervisor, Mr. Marco. Meanwhile, my Thai supervisor was Miss Oi.

After we did conversation with our mentor, Mr. Marco invited me to go to the classroom. Here, I would teach grade 5 which had 2 class, class 5/1 and class 5/2. After we arrived at classroom, I did observation, and then teacher Marco told me about how to teach the students in that classroom, how to be patient and how to make a lesson plan.

I was very lucky because my mentor was very kind and then so friendly, he said “I will assist you until you ca do it, don’t be nervous, don’t be stress, and enjoy it, because you have a short time here, I will always besides you to accompany teach them, I will not leave you alone here, as well as I give a lemon so you have to give me a lemon, understand”. How lucky I was.

The bell was ranging, it’s time to come to the class and met them. They were so cute and so excited to meet us. So many questions that I got from them, like “Where do you come from?”, “What is your name?”, “How old are you?”. But the question that makes me stunned was that “Do you love Thailand?” and I answered “I love Thailand, I love your country, your country is so unique, the people is so friendly and so kind, like you”. After that we took a picture together with the teacher and my mentor.
